Transfers to and from El Paso Airport

When arriving at an airport a transfer is needed to get to the final destination of the journey. Some have a relative or friend collect them, while others use one of the available options for transfer, public or private.

When arriving at El Paso Airport and before proceeding to the chosen transfer option, please remember to retrieve your entire luggage from the Baggage Claim area.

Transfers at El Paso Airport

Rental Cars – The rental car companies at El Paso Airport have their counters located in the left sector of the lower level of the main terminal area. To return a rented vehicle, please follow the instructions given by the car rental company in question.

Buses – Sun Metro provides two separate local public bus routes between El Paso and El Paso Airport, Route 33 and Route 50. The two routes depart from different locations and travel different routes on their way to the airport.

Journeys take around 40 minutes from the airport to downtown, or the other way around, independent on which of the routes one travels with. Tickets can be purchased at the airport. Standard fare is $1.50 with various discounts available.

Routes operate Monday-Saturday but not on Sundays and Cite-recognized holidays with a later first departure and earlier last departure on Saturdays compared to the weekdays.

Taxis – Taxi ranks are located outside the Baggage Claim area. Several taxi companies have permits to serve the airport and taxis are metered. The journey to downtown El Paso will take approximately 10-15 minutes and will cost approximately $30. Trains – The nearest train station is El Paso Union Depot, America’s first international train station in its early days. It is possible to travel directly to many different destinations from here. More details about trains near El Paso Airport.
